Job description:
Are you a dependable, self-motivated individual with a passion for helping both people and their pets? We are seeking a full-time Veterinary Customer Service Representative (CSR)/Receptionist to join our dedicated team at our busy and expanding small animal hospital.
As the first point of contact for our clients, the CSR plays a crucial role in shaping the client experience and representing the professional image of our practice. We are looking for someone who excels at providing exceptional customer service, remains composed under pressure, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Duties include:
- Warmly greet clients and pets by name and make them feel welcome
- Provide outstanding customer service in-person, over the phone, and via email
- Efficiently handle multi-line phone systems for incoming and outgoing calls
- Schedule appointments and boarding reservations
- Accurately enter and update client and patient information in the Pulse computer system
- Relay messages and information between clients and veterinary staff accurately
- Prepare and present treatment plans, invoices, and euthanasia certificates
- Process payments and manage basic accounting duties during opening and closing procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front office environment
- Handle correspondence including thank-you and sympathy cards, email communications, and accounts receivable
Requirements include the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, read and write English, perform basic math, lift 40 lbs. unaided, and able stand or walk for extended periods of time. This position requires weekend and holiday hours and includes exposure to loud noises and noxious smells and animal bodily wastes. Minimum age requirement is 18 years old.
Previous experience working in animal care is preferred.
Experience:
- Previous experience in customer service; veterinary or medical office experience is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Comfortable with computers; familiarity with Pulse software is preferred
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14 – $17 an hour
