Our staff is also Feline Friendly certified which focuses exclusively on feline stress and handling at the vet.

Job description:
Friendship Animal Hospital is seeking a dependable, motivated part-time Animal Care Attendant to join our team at our progressive small animal veterinary practice.
This is an important support role within the hospital responsible for maintaining a clean, safe environment and ensuring hospitalized pets receive attentive daily care. The right candidate will take pride in doing essential work well and contributing to a team focused on compassionate, high-quality veterinary care.
We are looking for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with a genuine interest in animal care and teamwork.

Our team is Fear Free–trained, focusing on reducing fear, anxiety, and stress for pets and creating a supportive environment for clients and staff. We primarily treat dogs and cats and allow our team to gain valuable hands-on experience in a veterinary setting.
We believe every team member plays a role in patient care, and the work of our Animal Care Attendants is essential to maintaining the standards our patients and clients deserve.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive daily care for hospitalized and boarding pets
- Feed and monitor cats and dogs and report any concerns to medical staff
- Walk dogs and promptly clean up animal waste
- Maintain clean, sanitary kennels and hospital spaces
- Bathe dogs and cats when needed
- Safely restrain dogs and cats when assisting team members
- Maintain accurate computer-based patient records when required
- Monitor and restock kennel supplies
- Perform routine facility maintenance including:
- Sweeping and mopping floors
- Laundry
- Trash removal
- Cleaning and disinfecting kennels
- Cleaning bathrooms and common areas
- Assist other hospital staff as needed to support patient care and daily operations
- What We’re Looking For
Successful candidates for this role are:
- Dependable and punctual
- Comfortable with physical, hands-on work
- Able to work independently while also being part of a team
- Detail-oriented and able to maintain high cleanliness standards
- Compassionate and patient with animals of varying temperaments
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to read and write English
- Basic math skills
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs without assistance
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- Comfortable working in an environment with: Loud noises, strong odors, and animal bodily fluids and waste
- Availability to work weekends and some holidays
- Previous animal care experience preferred
- Experience in animal restraint, medication administration, and vaccination protocols is beneficial
Schedule
This is a part-time position with the potential for future full-time opportunities for strong performers.
